About
Squidge was formed in 2015 and currently consists of James Francis (Vocals/Guitar), Jordan Mallinson (Vocals/Guitar), George Hopkins (Bassist) and Tom Dodd (Drums).
Their music focuses on alternative rock taking influence from bands such as Mineral, Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro. Located in the Bath/Bristol area they released their debut EP What’s the Point to Care followed by the release of their singles Disappear Reappear and On the Mend all of which are available on their Spotify.
The four musicians combine influences and tastes to create a unique wall of sound led by James and Jordan’s collaborative song writing methods backed by the strong rhythm of George and Tom.

Meet the Band
George Hopkins
George Hopkins joined Squidge as their bassist in his second year at university having met James and Jordan through their shared course. He is also bassist for We Are Parkas – who Squidge have supported on many occasions! George has toured the UK with both of his bands usually sporting a black beanie and a Nirvana tee-shirt. Usually considered the quietist in the group Georges heavy bass lines are hard to miss and set the tone for the bands sound.
Tom Dodd
Tom Dodd is the newest member of Squidge, recruited in his first year of university for being the best drummer on his course and his and James shared love of the band Dinosaur Pile-up. Despite being younger, Tom takes on a lot of responsibility for the bands promotion and creative direction with Jordan. As well as playing drums he is also a photographer/videographer meaning he shoots a lot of live gigs for other musicians and has had his shots from a recent music video featured an a Bath based magazine. Originally from a small town in wales tom also moved to Bath create a career in the music industry.
James Francis
James Francis is the lead singer and guitarist also co-writing some of their most popular songs with Jordan Mallinson. James lived in Salisbury until moving to Bath to attend Bath Spa University, taking commercial music to peruse his music career. When Squidge was formed was the lead guitarist however later replaced the lead singer when entering his second year on the course, establishing their sound and branding as grunge, punk, Emo and math rock.

Jordan Mallinson
Jordan Mallinson is the lead guitarist of Squidge originally from Pembrokeshire he came to Bath Spa University also to study commercial music. Starting his musical career off in multiple bands Jordan decided to firmly focus his attention to Squidge in his third year of university and now continues to be examined through his music throughout his master’s degree. Jordan writes most of the lyrics stating, “It comes from a place of loneliness combined with the hope of my ambitions”.
